The Community Own Bridge Park Land

We are pleased to report that we won leave to Appeal.  The hearing is set for 14th December 2021. We have a highly respected QC and Solicitors representing the Community along with the original in house legal team that acheived all three wins in the earlier rounds of Court that took place before the Trial. 

At the first Appeal, the Honarable Mr Justice Birss concluded by saying “… the arguments put forward as grounds of Appeal on behalf of the defendants have a real, as apposed to fanciful prospect of success at trial”.

Our position remains Brent are only Custodian Trustees with no right to sell the land, which the African and Caribbean community have a real equitable interest. Our primary defence arguments are as we drafted, as Litigants in Person in February 2019, which is based on there being a Charitable Trust established by the actions and events around both the purchase then development of Bridge Park circa 1982 and the protective covenant written into the Land title.
